We are incredibly happy to have recruited some of the most exciting names in Global Club music to deliver unique and distinct versions of the Umoya original track by Carthnage and Toya Delazy.

About these diverse bass remixes:

Hataah
Opening the remix EP, Hungarian producer and DJ ‘Hataah’ delivers a Global Bass version of quality and intensity commensurate with his multiple @babylon-records releases. Easily identifiable as a song originating from Hataah, the tune brims with joyful interactions between synth sounds while allowing the vocals to maintain a centre stage in the mix. The clear focus in terms of drums and arrangement is to ensure the song is as fun and danceable as possible . We are incredibly happy to open our remix EP with this eclectic, energetic and fun sounding version of Umoya!

Catu Diosis
Ugandan Producer, DJ and Nyege Nyege collective member, Catu Diosis delivers an Umoya edit blending Afro House, Tribal Tech and Gqom. She has also very creatively resampled Toya’s powerful vocals to add more raw emotion to the remix. Catu Diosis Afro-centric and highly danceable remix is a reflection of her free spirited, energetic, forward thinking work as an artist.

Kasbah
Nadir Moussaoui aka KasbaH’s remix of Umoya has truly allowed the busy producer to be emotionally expressive and to create a laid back, yet powerful version that shines for its beautiful simplicity and incredible layering of sounds. It’s a true honour to have had Kasbah made space for our Umoya remix, within his seemingly non-stop schedule of music releases and live shows.

Waggles
It does not require a lot of guestwork in regards to where Waggles sound and influence may originate from, after listening to his rendition of UMOYA. With this remix, the Bristol producer blends his influence of UK garage and breaks, with the super Afro/Zulu vocals of Toya. Carthnage had some huge Middle Eastern inspired atmospheres, flutes and synths, which added an element of Arabian psychedelia to his Afro-breaks remix.

Dead Stare
Last but not least, we are very pleased to have received this Umoya remix by our friends from the Hungarian/Mexican duo Dead Stare. This is a slowed-down, chugging, heavy, low-centre gravity and lysergic version of the Umoya track, to give an fenomenal closing to our remix EP, which we are very happy to share with the wider community of Global Underground music lovers.
